Beeston Castle

03-04-2008

We went to Beeston Castle for a break from the cabin fever we experience each weekend, especially during the wet, cold, windy months on Sunday. It was a glorious day and some fresh air and somewhere for the kids to run around and explore was a must.

The Kids at Beeston Casltle

It was a great day all in all... Both bailey and Bella never got bored exploring on the walk up to the castle and running around the structure itself. Bailey even made a friend at the top and made plans to see each other next time... (how we still aren't sure)! It was a very enjoyable afternoon, the structure itself took my breath away and the views from the top were amazing - though we had trouble getting our bearings - and well worth the entrance fee.

Bloody weather, bloody back

30-03-2008

I think the weather is against me. I don't know what I've done to mother nature to really piss her off, but it seems that whenever i take time off to get things done, she decides to have a bad-hair-day or a temper tantrum.

I wanted to get some more progress on the studiio on friday but it rained and was exceptionally windy all day. Yesterday afternoon I would've needed an ark to go outside... it sounded like the house was being washed away.

Today looks like it will be a glorious day for a change - unfortunately, yesterday I pulled something in my back while picking up Riley (not as young as I was) and now everytime I stand from a seated position or pick something up I get a shot of pain down the left of my back. I'm not sure how effective it would be for me to try and shift/cut/nail large peices of wood in this condition.

Bye bye old wheels

27-03-2008

I finally swapped the old worn wheels on my K2's for the new ones I bought online.

I was dissapointed to realise that although the axles I bought were in fact K2 axles, they didn't fit correctly with the boots I have. I managed to get all 8 wheels on, though i'm not sure if they will stay on. I need to have a fine day (are you listening Mother Nature?) to test them out.

flatulent march

21-03-2008

I woke this morning to find the garden had bee rearranged my the wind which was also trying to up-root the house and move it a few yards down the road.

Either that or some mischievous person climbed the back fence and rearranged the garden for us.
