Fleetwood Mac will get me through

07-05-2008

I'd hate to be labelled as one of those men that won't stop moaning about their illness (as if I would ever winge and moan about anything) but this infection/illness I have is really draining. I think I may have expected too much of myself to go back to work so quickly, led, in part by a false sense of security brought about by our family visit to the beach yesterday on the Bank Holiday.  But then when you're at the beach, you don't tend to do anything more taxing than a little bit of football, catch or rock pool exploration - (lots of crustations and fry to be found).

Listening to Fleetwood Mac and Depeche Mode will get me through the day. I'm hoping that pasta will give me enough energy to get through tomorrow... and lots nore Fleetwood Mac.

It's Jenny's Birthday today. I feel a little bad for her because she's working (in a temporary capacity) tonight and due to Bank Holiday traffic last night we weren't able to get to sainsbury's in time to get a cake and celebrate last night. We are planning an evening out on Thursday as a joint birthday bit of fun!

I nearly died

05-05-2008

The last week has been a bit of a crappy one (to say the least).

I've been ill all week. Ill enough to not go into work and spend the days rolling about in bed in a feverish state in between bouts of trying to cough up a lung. When I went to the doctors the nurse dismissed my symptoms as a 'cold' and gave me an inhaler - which didn't do anything but make me cough more.

After spending a couple of days at the end of last week coughing up blood I went to the emergency clinic yesterday and was diagnosed with a chest infection... What a relief. The antibiotics i was given already seem to be taking effect (placebo) although I'm still very sweaty and still coughing up bits of internal organs!

I'm actually looking forward to going back to work this week, though when I get in and see the backlog - maybe I won't be so happy. :)

Beeston Castle

03-04-2008

We went to Beeston Castle for a break from the cabin fever we experience each weekend, especially during the wet, cold, windy months on Sunday. It was a glorious day and some fresh air and somewhere for the kids to run around and explore was a must.

The Kids at Beeston Casltle

It was a great day all in all... Both bailey and Bella never got bored exploring on the walk up to the castle and running around the structure itself. Bailey even made a friend at the top and made plans to see each other next time... (how we still aren't sure)! It was a very enjoyable afternoon, the structure itself took my breath away and the views from the top were amazing - though we had trouble getting our bearings - and well worth the entrance fee.
