The last week has been a bit of a crappy one (to say the least).
I've been ill all week. Ill enough to not go into work and spend the days rolling about in bed in a feverish state in between bouts of trying to cough up a lung. When I went to the doctors the nurse dismissed my symptoms as a 'cold' and gave me an inhaler - which didn't do anything but make me cough more.
After spending a couple of days at the end of last week coughing up blood I went to the emergency clinic yesterday and was diagnosed with a chest infection... What a relief. The antibiotics i was given already seem to be taking effect (placebo) although I'm still very sweaty and still coughing up bits of internal organs!
I'm actually looking forward to going back to work this week, though when I get in and see the backlog - maybe I won't be so happy. :)

I think the weather is against me. I don't know what I've done to mother nature to really piss her off, but it seems that whenever i take time off to get things done, she decides to have a bad-hair-day or a temper tantrum.
I wanted to get some more progress on the studiio on friday but it rained and was exceptionally windy all day. Yesterday afternoon I would've needed an ark to go outside... it sounded like the house was being washed away.
Today looks like it will be a glorious day for a change - unfortunately, yesterday I pulled something in my back while picking up Riley (not as young as I was) and now everytime I stand from a seated position or pick something up I get a shot of pain down the left of my back. I'm not sure how effective it would be for me to try and shift/cut/nail large peices of wood in this condition.

It's been a weird couple of days. Yesterday turned out to be a proper Monday. I remember saying to people at work it was gonna be a bad day (ever the optimist) after the car started dragging to the right on the M56 on the way to work. I decided to take it for a spin at lunch to check out the steering which appeared to be ok... only when I got onto the roundabout back into work it started again and when I tried to counter the effects I thought something was on my right side. I glanced over my shoulder and BANG! I hit a lamppost!
Yes. I hit a lamppost.
I'm awaiting the results of the autopsy from the insurance company. Oh, and currently suffering from whiplash (self diagnosed).
On the upside - I did a little more painting tonight. The pictures coming along nicely, I'm pleased with it. I took some photos but they haven't come out too good - hoping to get some in daylight tomorrow.

Not sure the Images does it justice!

Well it's back to the grindstone after a day on the couch. I have a whole lot of ideas and projects that I need to get jotted down and ordered in some kind of list, along with just catching up on what I missed yesterday.
On another note, while I was up this morning with the kids I saw an article on GMTV about the rising cost of childcare, something that we at our house know quite a lot about. We made the decision this morning to pull Bella out of nursery, something that we don't really want to do as we've been cutting down her hours more and more. Unfortunately, until circumstances pick up, it's an expense we can not afford.

So it seems that everyone in our department has a cold. I've had this 'thing' for weeks now, everytime it seems to be going away a few days later it's back, stronger than before. I've taken every over the counter drug possible and still I have a bad head cold.
Today at lunch three of the marketing department ventured to Stockton Heath on a mission to purchase as many anti-cold drugs and remedies as possible! Ange and Sal bought the usual Lemsip type drugs, I went for the more traditional remedies... Echinacea drops, some antibacterial hand wash and some Zinc supplements! I'm hoping that my cold will be banished by Friday - our departmental Christmas night out in Manchester. I don't want to be ill for Christmas.
On a more upbeat note - we got the new Wii set up last night and had a good few hours messing around on Wii Sports... Jenny kicking my ass at everything, including the boxing!
