Here’s the start of the dragon painting from the sketch from earlier in the week. Still a way to go here and I’m looking forward to the finished piece. I’m really liking my new book on Japanese printing.

Not sure that I fancy the studio while the UK gets the back end of Hurricane Gonzola, so I’ll probably help my daughter make her gas mask box for her WWII day at school.

A quick study to warm up while in the cold studio last week. At the moment I’m enjoying the study much more than the ‘artwork’, probably because the there’s less commitment.

A few shots of a study from today. I really enjoyed getting loose and blocking in colours. A rough outline based upon the sketch (see previous post) followed by oils applied with stiff brushes.
